I decided I’m just going to have to be my own sunshine for the next couple of months. Strolling around SE Portland listening to Serge Gainsbourg loudly from my iPhone (Comic Strip: SHEBAM! POW! BLOP! WIZZ) speakers wearing bright colors. Oh god, this is why everyone in Portland is weird.

I realized why I have to wear extra dark glasses all summer so my eyes aren’t squinty. It looks like 5PM outside all day. And a predictor for possible snow over the weekend? I feel like I’m seriously behind on my winter preparedness.

The other night I went down to the eastbank esplanade to sit by the water. Ten or so minutes later, a big gulp slowly floated by. The water was dark, terrifying, and always seems like it’s going to reach out and grab me.
